Pre-school & School age classes

Pre-school age children

Pre-school classes are for children aged 3-4 years old, they are adult/child classes so you will be in the water with your child helping them understand the teachers’ instructions and you will also support them with their development into learning swimming basic strokes and aquatic breathing techniques.

The classes are structured around developing water confidence and water safety.

They will learn how to enter the water safely plus vital water safety techniques.

They will develop basic strokes and learn how to breathe in the water all along with some fun activities.

They will then be well prepared to join independent swimming classes once they start school at age 4

School age children

From the age of 4 if your child is at school, they can then progress into independent swimming lessons.

Children who have been attending baby/toddler and pre-school classes are usually able to progress into independent swimming either with or with out swim aids at this stage.

Don’t worry if your child has no water experience as they will be supported by the teacher in the water and swim aids will be provided.

We teach to Swim England expected standards and your child will work through the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme

There are a Maximum of 6 pupils per class and only one class in the pool at a time so there is no background noise from other classes taking place at the same time.
